Joining Dordt University, Sioux Center, Iowa, department of art and design in 2001, David Versluis taught graphic design and art courses and directed the Campus Center Art Gallery. He retired from teaching and departmental chair in 2019 and moved to Michigan but continued to serve as curator of the Dordt Permanent Art Collection until 2020. Versluis's significant contributions in displaying visual art on Dordt's campus were recognized when he received the faculty/administration 2019 Noteworthy Scholarship and Service award.
